We had a wonderful time catching up as the best part about showing dogs is the social side of it and that you don't have to feel guilty about sitting around relaxing which you would be doing if you were at home. The Weather was varied to say the least.. we arrived to overcast skys, but as soon as got our gazebos up down came the rain.. it was a rush to get the dogs undercover so they didn't get drowned unlike there silly owners who stood out in the rain puting tarps up to keep the dogs dry.
I didn't spend all day washing and drying dogs to have them get all horrible now.
soon the sun came out and it started to get warm and Humid so down came the tarps so the dogs didn't get too hot... although the storm clouds wondered around us most of the day they kept there distance, untill ofcourse it was time to pack up as we started to pull the gazebos down one of the big storm clouds decided to make a line straight for the show ground... so we managed bundled dogs and gear back into the cars and trailors just in time! On arriveing at the motel we were staying at we found that only a few minutes earlier a huge hail storm had gone through.. so I was very glade we were not sitting under a gazebo in that.

The Motel we stayed at was unbelievable - To say they were "DOG FRIENDLY" is the understatemanet of the century!!!!
The dogs were allowed in the rooms with us and the staff of the motel made us and the dogs feel every welcome.
The hole Motel was booked solid with many of the dog people from the show staying there.. the parking was a little bit hectic one of the nights with all the dog trailors etc but it was really wonderful and I would highly recomend it to anyone wanting to say in Canberra with or without a dog!

We had a few days between our day in the ring on Thursday and group on Sunday...
On Friday we spend the day at the show again as we cheered on other doggy friends as they showed there dogs mosty with Pyrenean Mountain Dogs, Mini Schnauzers and Giant Schnauzers along with a few others. It was so nice to just sit back and watch the showing and enjoy the day with out having to stress about getting dogs ready for the ring...

On Saturday we headed out with the dogs to do the Touristy things like visiting Parliament House to photograph the dogs on the front lawn but the dogs seem to have other ideas as to what they would rather be doing.. and it sure was not sitting still in a nice line for the camera... so we got some and then headed down to Lake Burly Griffin to allow the girls some free time where they could have a swim and play and let out some excess energy that was building up specialy in Shelby and Elsa the two Turbo Bergers of the group.

We got back to the motel and had a bit of a rest and then Lynday and I took a few of the girls for a walk were we ended up at a lovely river down the road from the motel.. where the dogs were allowed off leash and best of all the river had Bath toys (Ducks) in it... so as soon we let them off lead they plunged in and had a great time swiming after the ducks.. not that they could catch up with them but it was a lot of fun and really gave the girls a work out. after a good run in the park to dry off we headed back to the motel allowing the girls to dry out on the walk back.
